If the walls were not primed before the wallpaper was put on, you have a much higher probability of the wallpaper sticking to the walls and tearing portions of the drywall/Sheetrock off when you try to remove it.Do I know what my drywall/Sheetrock looks like underneath?
Many times, people will cover up damages with wallpaper so that they do not have to fix drywall/Sheetrock.
If you have already taken off your wallpaper and you could not get all of it off or you damaged the drywall/Sheetrock while in the process, there is not need to fear, Tracy Drywall is here. We can come out and give you and estimate on what it would cost for us to seal on the remaining wallpaper, repair and smooth out your walls so that they will be ready to be textured or painted. You can reach us by phone, email or live chat with us.
If you are determined to take it off yourself, there are many different ways that you can try to take it off, you can try fabric softener in warm water, a steamer, or a wallpaper scratcher (we do not recommend this one). Just remember, the more damage that you do to your drywall/Sheetrock, the more costly it is going to be for us to repair it for you.
For MOST cases, as long as the walls are 10' or less from the floor, we charge $98.00 per each 4'x8' sheet of drywall (every 32 sq. ft) to a paint ready condition, which means that once we are done, it would be ready for you to prime and paint.
